The question

What makes a menu
easy to read?

A menu is a hierarchy of decisions. Category, item name and description each need a different level of emphasis. This study uses warm paper tones, generous type and ruled divisions to make those levels clear.

The character comes from the typography and rhythm, rather than from decorative controls or competing images.

The implementation

The right content,
one choice away.

  • Category buttons reveal coffee, tea or bakery entries.
  • “Everything” restores the complete example menu.
  • Two desktop columns become a single reading order on mobile.
  • Visible category state and a live result count support orientation.

Items are fictional demonstration content, with no pricing, ordering or availability claims.

From an idea to a working page

A menu should be
easy to explore.
